We
engaged the services of a top designer with knowledge and experience in
reinforced plastics in the marine industry. The new smooth shape enabled
us, with the use of Kevlar reinforcements, to produce a chassis of tremendous
strength, which has been tested successfully to four times it's designed
SWL. The standard finish is a brilliant white body with a matt blue outer
beam as an option. The winch was designed specifically for this application using epicycle gearing. The advantage of this system is that there are no ratchets or brakes, you merely wind the handle in the desired direction, thus avoiding crash falls and damaged knuckles that can be experienced with existing systems. The lifting stop is 35mm webbing with a 12mm SS carbine hook to ensure quick and easy attachments to your dinghy. The standard winch handle may be removed when not in use. |

The
cast alloy deck fitting is simply bolted to the deck, then the davit is
secured over the top with two stainless cross pins. This leaves a clean finish
with no mounting bolts visible on the deck. Covers for the deck fittings
are available when the Davits are removed. When building your dinghy or
rib, there is an extendable arm which steadied the outboard side when fully
hoisted. U bolts under the beam are for securing your dinghy on long passages
or in rough weather. The original launch of the prototype Crane Davits was at the 1998 London Boat Show followed by the introduction at the METS International Trade Show in Amsterdam, where we were awarded with the coveted 'DAME' award for design and innovation. Standard Crane Davits are available ex stock. |
